This is a sequel to 'Chronicles of Avonlea' and contains fifteen short stories about the inhabitants of the fictional Canadian village of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island. one of the stories is 'Aunt Cynthia's Persian Cat', in which Aunt Cynthia leaves her spoilt Persian cat Fatima in the care of unwilling nieces. Fatima disappears, and the nieces resort todesperate measures to avoid the displeasure of a wealthy Aunt.
