This third book of the Lensman Series, a runner-up for the Hugo award for Best All-Time Series, has been proofread, corrected for scanning errors, and optimized for iTunes.
How do you get Worsel into a human lifeboat built for two men?
Classic Sci Fi, terrible ebook
E E “Doc” Smith’s Lensman series is worth a read by any fan of science fiction. However, I recommend staying away from this particular ebook. It’s clear that the ebook was copied from print using OCR, without the least editing. As a result, every page contains tips that detract from the reading experience. Paragraph breaks are missing, word incorrectly inserted, dialogue from multiple characters run together without break. It’s simply too much effort to parse this text to enjoy Smith’s story.
Great story but poor quality ebook
This version of Doc Smith’s Galactic Patrol is riddled with typos and mis-corrected typos. It was evidently made by text recognition software applied to a scan of the book. The editor did an OK but not great job fixing up the text at the beginning of the book, but evidently gave up about halfway through the novel.
There are other versions of this book in the Apple Bookstore. I’d try one of those instead of purchasing this ebook.
