Even if you’ve never watched sports in your life, you’ll be swept away by this surprisingly sweet romance between a smoothie maker and a hockey star. It all starts when pro athlete Scott orders a drink from Kip before a game, and they form an instant connection. With undeniable chemistry smoldering between them, Scott and Kip soon tumble into a hot, steamy, deliriously romantic new relationship. The only problem? Scott is still in the closet. Rachel Reid’s debut practically hums with the ecstatic bliss of falling in love. She nails the banter, the sex (of which there’s plenty), and even the endearing awkwardness. You’ll feel a lump in your throat when real life finally catches up with them, with Scott afraid to come out (even though his hockey teammates are a bunch of sweethearts) and Kip realizing he just isn’t comfortable living in secret. This is a sensual, gorgeously yearning read.

The show didn't do it justice
Man that episode is season 1 really does not do their relationship justice. It did luckily capture just how in love kip and Scott were with each other, which pushed me to read the book. Soooo good. Gives a lot more insight on the characters and their relationship and how they grew to love each other. I was expecting a lot more angst especially with this trope but it was kept light which I appreciated. Very good read would recommend for anyone who saw episode 3 of heated rivalry and wanted more.
Amazing Book Amazing Author
This book is so amazing. This series broke me out of my slump. The ending had the biggest smile on my face. I didn’t want it to be over. The writing is perfect, the storyline perfect. Everything just perfect.
A safety shock
I absolutely adored how the development of Scott and Kip’s relationship. The way that the relationship transitioned from eager beginnings to heated compassion and ultimately a loving relationship brought a shock back into my heart that I didn’t know I had. I loved reading every part of this book and I am so grateful that I was able to experience it for the first time and I can’t wait to experience rereading this story in the future!
