Genesis Epoch 3 Part 1

Life did not end when man was sent out from Eden, but it continued under the shadow of the fall. What began in one heart in the garden now begins to spread through the human family.

The Flood, Part 1 walks through Genesis 4 and 5, the generations between Eden and the flood. With the background, the setting and the people for whom Moses first wrote, the story is told in a natural, heartfelt way, close to the text and faithful to it.

At the first altar, worship reveals the heart, and jealousy gives way to the first murder. Cain's line builds cities and crafts, yet grows in violence and pride. Through Seth, God preserves another line, and people begin to call on the name of the Lord. Death marks every generation, but Enoch walks with God, and the genealogy closes with the birth of Noah and the hope of comfort. The book closes with reflection, application and a prayer.
