Gold Rush
Going back to one of the early episodes of the Blackwood Security Saga, one I had missed when it was first launched, has turned out to be a pleasant and very enjoyable reading experience.
After the dramatic events of the fist three books, Ms. Noble returns with a sweeter, gentler story, while maintaining a fast paced, action packed plot and her unique rich and fascinating writing style.
Lara is initially presented as an “average”, almost plain woman, going trough sad and difficult circumstances.
Over the course of the story, she reveals as an intelligent, caring and generous individual, capable of facing her doubts and insecurities with courage and intelligence.
While Incredulous at the beginning, and more than a little scared at being thrown into the whirlwind world of the Blackwood Security extended family, she gradually picks up on their spirit, becoming a full fledged member of the team.
Emmy, as expected, plays a key, and well orchestrated, role, being her usual smart, witty and dangerous self.
Last but not least, the rest of the Blackwood team joins in and enriches the story, creating a variety of small and very enjoyable cameo episodes.
Throughout the book, the witty and spirited dialogues make it charming and very pleasant to read.
Overall, Gold Rush is an intriguing, captivating and well written book that guarantees genuine entertainment a more than a few moment of pure fun.
My My
I came across this author by way of a freebie and I must say this is the most entertaining author I've encountered in some time. I'm a big fan of RK Lilley, Malphas, JC Cliff, and a few more heavy hitters. This author is WOW!!
I found myself running home to finish the 4 books I've read so far. I'm in awe with Emmy and Black. Bradley is my hero. I guess I found a new friend in Elise's books. I high recommend these series to an avid readers like me. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Action Packed Romantic Thriller!!! Best Series Ever! :)
An abusive ex-boyfriend. A mugging. A stalker. Getting fired (sacked as Elise would write) from a crappy job. Lara was down on her luck. So a randomly crazy move seemed like a perfect adventure.
Still broke, Lara lucked into a housekeeping job for one of Blackwood Security's team members, but the house / estate was straight out of a Hoarders episode. Can a lowly housekeeper become more to her wealthy, sexy boss?
A friend in a coma after an accident. A wedding back home. The ex-boyfriend reappears. The stalker reappears. I know what you're thinking... This is too much action for one book! And yet Elise keeps the action (and romance) coming chapter after chapter with full clarity.
Personally, I want to work for Blackwood Security! HEA and no cliffhanger, yet I can't wait to read the next book in this series, Gray is My Heart. Can be read as a standalone, yet I highly recommend reading the entire series in order for maximum enjoyment. Warning: This series is addictive!
