This is the tale of Scarlett O’Hara, the spoiled, manipulative daughter of a wealthy plantation owner, who arrives at young womanhood just in time to see the Civil War forever change her way of life. A sweeping story of tangled passion and courage, in the pages of Gone With the Wind, Margaret Mitchell brings to life the unforgettable characters that have captured readers for over seventy years.
Customer Reviews
Classic realistic but romantic.
I saw this movie when I was only 10 years old and it has always been my favorite. This is only my second reading of this book and it still carries me to an era that you feel you are living in. The realities of the time are correct and the feelings real, something every student should read.
My love for this book is past down to my daughter who I am reading this to a little at a time. We read her book then I read this and she is enamored with it. She is 6 and that should tell you something about the authors ability to draw you in as if you are living it with the characters. There is no doubt in my mind that Scarlet is someone I can identify with on some. Level.
Incredible Masterpiece
Could be the best book I ever read.
