Grand Master's Trilogy
The trilogy is a sequence of adventures that kept me interested and involved. I kept reading because I wanted to see what happened next. There were ideas that were creative, that I wished were elaborated further. The major fault I found with the books was the lack of depth in the characters and the awkwardness of the dialogue. The characters, with the possible exception of Violet and the dragons, were stick figures, not three dimensional human beings and sentient aliens. Their motives were shallow, without complexity or nuance --the villains did evil because they were evil, like comic book villains.
