Publisher Description

The H.E.R.O. series continues with its fourth novel. Aliens come to the Sol system to research the umbra - or dark energy behind the powers of supers both on Earth and elsewhere. Finding Earth unexpectedly populated, and after being attacked by another alien vessel, their starship is forced to land near Metrocity. The scientists decide to investigate some of the superhuman activity in the city while repairs are made upon their starship.

Separately, researcher Cam Huntsbury leads a team in ongoing research on the meteorite involved in the mutation of humans into supers. An experiment goes awry, ending in a disaster for the research firm Fargene.

A large number of supers in Metrocity become involved as the events occur, including Spartan, Psystar, Black Tiger, Diva, Gatecrasher, Razorwing and Rayna, among others.

H.E.R.O. - Dark Research is a full length novel of approximately 106,000 words. Please visit the author's website for more information on characters and character images.

The ongoing series currently consists of these novels (as of early 2012):

H.E.R.O. - Rise and Fall
H.E.R.O. - Dark Research
H.E.R.O. - Horde
H.E.R.O. - Paragon
H.E.R.O. - Dossier I (Illustrated Guidebook - expected Apr/May 2012)

“I'm half way through the last book, Horde ... the characters have become like friends and I don't want to leave them. Thank you, Kevin, for writing this series. I felt like a kid again reading it. The series can be summed up in one word, ‘FUN.’” - Dale R. Bille

"...I've been teaching 7-12th grade English for nearly 20 years and my students continually ask for recommendations for their monthly Book Reviews. Books such as Kevin Rau's series are, not only, perfect for them, but for readers of all ages. They are high interest, exciting reads that are well worth checking out.

The only thing I don't like about the series is I've finished the first five and have to wait for the sixth. Number six, H.E.R.O. - Paragon, is due out any time now, so I won't have to wait too long. WOOO HOOOO!" - Triage IV

"...I've already read the first 4 books in the series and they keep getting better with each new book. If you're looking for some light entertainment with super powers, fun characters, action, and a good bit of comic relief, then this is a good place to start. >:) " - Tagadin
