Chris Hawthorne had no idea he had a brother, until he discovered in his Father’s will a sizeable inheritance for someone named Mike Hawthorne. Chris, in shock, takes a flight straight to his newfound brother’s home, finding him in the midst of a family dinner. For the first time in his life, Chris feels awkward at a dinner table. These are the only living relatives he has; yet he doesn't trust them enough to tell them why he's there. He curses himself for making the irrational trip. He doesn't belong there.
Then, Mike's sister-in-law, Emma, joins them at the table. Chris knows he's found more than his brother that evening. He's found a submissive. He might just find his place at the diner table now. Because he wants Emma to belong to him.

Awesome book. It's a must read. I absolutely couldn't put it down. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Hard Love, book 1
I'm honestly not sure how I feel about Chris & Emma. The slow draw that I like...that pull towards two characters is there, just under the surface of my curiosity...but something is off.
I'm not sure if it's with the set up of why he's in her families home, or if it lies with the characters itself.
She has no clue about who he is, yet is on fire for him the second her eyes meet his. He realizes in that very same second that she's going by to be his next sub. Her quirky resistance towards his dominant nature is sexy & challenging. Even though he allows it to a very slim degree, his domination wins out & there are small glimpses of a true dom...but only small glimpses. The writing style bounces me between rushing the story & the slow burn my taste craves, so when they finally come together, I'm not sure I was ready yet or left satisfied. The story line has some subtle traces of "fifty shades" undertones that creep up, in between these two characters deciding what it is exactly that they want this relationship to be & where their desires are taking them. The confrontation at the end caught me by surprise. It was interesting to see the back story of Chris come to light a bit more and seems it will push Emma faster into either the life of a submissive that she never knew she wanted, or back to the boring nonexistent life she currently has. I'm definitely curious to see where these two make their stands.
Loved the book! Can't wait to read more
