A REESE'S YA BOOK CLUB PICK!
“A perfectly delicious tale of greed, family, vengeance, and revenge.” —Kathleen Glasgow, New York Times bestselling author of Girl in Pieces and The Agathas
Scorned in more ways than one, a former teen heiress attempts the ultimate revenge heist at her father’s luxury wedding—if only her infuriatingly charming ex-boyfriend would get out of the way—in this funny and fast-paced romantic thriller.
Seventeen-year-old Olivia Owens isn't thrilled that her dad's getting remarried ... again. She's especially not thrilled that he cheated on her mom, kicked them out of their Rhode Island home, and cut Olivia out of her rightful inheritance.
But this former heiress has a plan for revenge. While hundreds of guests gather on the grounds of the gorgeous estate where she grew up, everyone will be thinking romance, not robbery. She’ll play the part of dutiful daughter, but in reality she’ll be redistributing millions from her father’s online accounts. She only needs the handwritten pass code he keeps in the estate's safe.
With the help of an eclectic crew of high school students and one former teacher, Olivia has plotted her mid-nuptial heist down to the second. But she didn't plan for an obnoxiously nosy wedding guest, an interfering ex-boyfriend intent on winning her back, greedy European cousins with their own agenda, or a vengeful second wife. When everything seems like it's going wrong, Olivia has to keep her eyes on what really matters: getting rich. And when she’s done, “something borrowed” will be the understatement of the year.
Amidst competing schemes, nonstop twists, and a romance to root for, one high-heeled mastermind must prove to her father—and herself—that she’s more ruthless than anyone expected.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Following the news that her father cheated on her mother, white-cued 17-year-old Olivia Owens and her mom must give up their lavish lifestyle; they're both kicked out of their Rhode Island estate and Olivia loses her inheritance. When her father decides to marry for a third time and Olivia's boyfriend cheats on her, she resolves to exact revenge. She refuses to let her father get away with his past lying and cheating, especially as her mother's medical bills mount. With the help of a former high school teacher, Olivia assembles a motley crew of classmates à la The Italian Job and plots a heist to infiltrate her father's upcoming wedding at the Rhode Island estate. But her quest for vengeance (and search for millions) is complicated by curious wedding guests, apologetic ex-boyfriends, and extended family members with agendas of their own. In this quickly moving story of self-discovery and high-stakes revenge schemes, married creators Wibberly and Siegemund-Broka (Never Vacation with Your Ex) employ Olivia's sardonic first-person voice to construct a serpentine plot that's equal parts intense action and organic teenage interactions. Ages 12–up.
Customer Reviews
Super cute and entertaining
I loved how Olivia used her outrage towards her father and the way he had discarded her mother leaving the both of them in destitution while he was one of the wealthiest and most recognizable man in Narragansett due to the long held wealth and power the family had established nearly 100 yrs ago from the businesses his great grandfather had established and made extremely successful as well as using corrupt practices to pile the gains and acquisitions he was greedily fixated on making his own and creating a bottomless generational wealth for his future dynasties and rrelatives.
Olivia has planned to pull off a massive heist against her father during his wedding to his 3rd wife who is a mere 5 yrs older than her. She gathers up a small group of kids her age who all are desperate to have a significant amount of money to open their own business, follow their dreams as an actor or to live without the stress and burdens financially that they’ve experienced all their lives along with their hard working parents and siblings. Many of them are intelligent and even brilliant in roles she has chosen them for, such as a hacker, an actor, a financial wiz who can access the data her father has in his oversees accounts and transfer them into the one she is depositing all his millions. When she is found out by her father that she has succeeded in stealing all his millions he surprises her with being proud of her cunning and well planned betrayal and compliments her on being just like him. This sickens her along with the admission of the most shocking secret he has kept from all jos wives and worst, from her. She was in denial and then angered upon hearing that this secret was the truth and the lengths and the treatment he callously dumped on the one who would be the destruction of his reputation was not something he woukd ever allow and so he neglected abused and mistreated this poor person who had no choice in the predicament they were in. He blamed them but it Ed his own selfish and sick corrupt and morally bankrupted fault. Olivia had always known he was heartless and lacked empathy or compassion for anyone even those he shared blood with but this revelation enraged her and she chose to keep his millions leaving him with nothing to fall back on and she planned to cut him out of her life completely as he had done to her mother and herself when she was only 12 yrs old. He’s held a grudge bc she cash him cheating on her mom and he told her if she told and the marriage fell apart it would be all her fault. She lived with that guilt and shame for the last 6 yrs and he used it every time he had the chance to gaslight her and remind her how she ruined their family. She was finally free of his s done and psychological trauma as well as having plenty of money to take care of her mom and she had her inheritance that was legally hers given to her by her grandfather so she didn’t feel at all anything about her dad except vindicated.
