Rohzenheim war arc
This volume is almost entirely about the war with the demon army in the elven nation. Though I’m not a fan of war stories, I found this one quite readable. While the protagonist’s strategic effectiveness here requires a certain degree of suspension of disbelief, he also does reach a point where his powers simply aren’t enough. World building picks up again with some hints about how the gods work, as well as our first details about the demonic enemy, which are promising. Unfortunately the elves come across as fairly generic, which was a minor disappointment. There is some potential for the future related to the sundering from the dark elves, so I hope this gets fleshed out more in a later volume.
