A road trip takes three people on an emotional journey in this poignant rom-com. Brash, guarded Logan and compulsive perfectionist Rosemary had a thwarted relationship in the past and are now at odds with each other, barely civil while teaching at the same school. Their beloved former English teacher, who’s dying, persuades the reluctant duo to take him on one last cross-country trip, where they confront their complicated bond. Author Alison Cochrun’s ease with dialogue and character takes us right into the front seat with Logan and Rosemary as they meander slowly from Washington State to Maine, with plenty of pit stops along the way. Here We Go Again (a lyric paraphrased from ABBA’s “Mamma Mia,” one of many camp classics on their road playlist) is a tender meditation on love lost and rediscovered.

Devastating and perfect
Absolutely gorgeous book. Don’t let my review fool you, this book will destroy you. It’s a romance, sure, but it’s about about growing up and learning to live with the ghosts of the people you used to be and the ghosts of the people you love. It’s about learning, change, grief, and the kind of death that demands change in its wake. I will think about this book for a long time to come.
