«Joel Chandler Harris (1848 – 1908) was an American journalist, fiction writer, and folklorist best known for his collection of Uncle Remus stories. Based on the African-American oral storytelling tradition, the stories were revolutionary in their use of dialect and in featuring a trickster hero called Brother Rabbit, who uses his wits against adversity, though his efforts do not always succeed. “How Mr. Rabbit was too sharp for Mr. Fox” is one of them.
