Tiger Kane is set to go and get his mother from the town and cult he grew up in and was kicked out of. But doing so would require her cooperation. Everyone in the town is brainwashed and his mother is as well. Dr. Piper Holmes is brought in to the town to help find why the town has low fertility rates. But what she finds is more they she expected and is not sure what to do to help the women in this town. Kane and Piper meet in passing and there is some instant attraction but Kane’s on a mission to help his mom. This book is part love story, part looking into what a possible shifter cult town might look like. It’s a very well written self-contained story that is very entertaining to read.

Shifting Ground is part of the Bad Boy Alphas’ books, but is also the 2nd standalone book in Tabitha’s captivating series The White Fir Bend Cult. I so love getting to know the characters in a series, and when sexy shifters are involved the series becomes more powerful and exciting..

Exciting captivating well written read by a truly gifted author. Had my undivided attention till the end and I loved it. Great book. But then I’m a sucker for an alpha male shifter story. If you are as well, this one won’t disappoint you.

Kane, as we learned in the prequel, Minor Shift, was kicked out of his hometown at age 13 and left to survive on his own. Not only did he survive; he found friends and became a US Ranger. After all this time he as decided to return, along with 3 of his Ranger buddies, to get his mother out of what he has now termed “Crazy Town”.

Dr. Piper Holmes is a shifter that the “Master” of “Crazy Town” has brought into the town to figure out why the women are having trouble getting pregnant. What she finds in the town are terrible signs of abuse and child endangerment. She soon learns she is being watched and forced to remain in this town. While Piper is trying to find proof that she can use to help the women and female children of the town, she and Kane cross paths. The two are instantly drawn to one another.

With their personal agenda’s will Piper and Kane find time for a connection? Will Kane save his mother? Will Piper be able to get out of town and possibly help the other ladies of the town?

The book is very well written with lots of suspense and action. Judging from the prequel, Minor Shift and this book, Shifting Ground; this looks to be a great series!
