Animals of the River

The world’s rivers are home to some incredible animals. Did you know a beaver’s teeth never stop growing or that a manatee lives part of its life in salt water and part in fresh water? The nonfiction series, Our Amazing World Series, Advanced, includes books on river animals that encourage children to develop a love for nonfiction through fun facts that accompany each exquisite photo. This is an excellent book for advanced early readers to practice their phonics skills. They learn to combine words they know, such as cat and fish to make catfish and king and fisher to make kingfisher.
