NYC Nights 6

Whereas 2017 was a year of transition of my shooting technique and post production workflow, 2018 was the realization of this change. The quality of what was captured finally matched what I knew was there, hiding in plain sight. An incredible sense of peace permeated my photographic thinking, confident with the knowledge of lessons learned coming to fruition. The next phase of my imaging journey was beginning, what an amazing time to ‘have at it’.



I felt a need to revisit certain locations over the course of the year, a desire to see how the evolution of my craft would impact the images captured. I always try to keep a fresh outlook when venturing to the familiar - new perspectives and compositions awaiting awareness. Embracing change, as in taking advantage of the variety of sites to be experienced for the first time. One such place, Long Island City, located in Queens, turned into 3 separate shoots. Gained a lot of insight by not letting the unfamiliar deter me from experimenting with the unknown.



I would be remiss with not mentioning the beautiful impact being in a relationship for the first time in many years was having on my photography projects. Lady Judith opened my eyes, mind, and heart to the amazing possibilities of sharing experiences with a special someone. Especially when it’s healthy in every way - communication, being accepted for who you are, and genuine love. Hiccups/issues may arise, yet the willingness to be openminded, patient, and accept there will be differences sprinkled amongst the similarities is amazing.



What a fun year roaming the nocturnal streets of New York City. It’s a pleasure sharing moments from the night.
