Publisher Description
The untold story of how John Ramsey survived unspeakable tragedy and learned to hope again.
Like the biblical Job, John Ramsey had it all-wealthy, social position, a loving family. And like Job, Ramsey was destined for great affliction, as many of the most precious things in his life were cruelly taken from him.
First came the death of his eldest daughter in a car accident in 1992. Then, four years later, his beloved six-year-old, JonBenét, was murdered; Ramsey was the one who discovered her body, concealed in the basement of his family's home. The case drew international media attention, and-compounding Ramsey's woe-suspicion unfairly focused on Ramsey and his wife, Patsy. Although they were ultimately cleared of any connection with the crime, Ramsey's sorrows did not end. In 2006, Patsy died, at 49, of ovarian cancer.
In this remarkable book, Ramsey reveals how he was sustained by faith during the long period of spiritual darkness, and he offers hope and encouragement to others who suffer tragedy and injustice.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Ramsey (The Death of Innocence), who along with his second wife, Patsy, was thrust into a media firestorm after the murder of their six-year old daughter, JonBen t, in 1996, writes a comprehensive memoir he refers to as his "untold faith journey." Despite the titular indication that Ramsey has overcome his life's tragedies, he spends a substantial amount of time rehashing claims regarding JonBen t's murder. His persistence seems to indicate that he still feels compelled to explain himself, and perhaps he is not quite past the point of caring what other people think of him. While he is quick to draw similarities between his life and that of the biblical Job, his tendency to jump time frames makes it difficult to determine exactly when he went from being a superficial, immature Christian to a man of deep faith. On occasion, Ramsey, a businessman who served a stint in the military, disconcertingly speaks with unexplained authority regarding profiling child abusers and the use of medication for dealing with grief. Still, Ramsey's reflections on other issues, including the death of an older child and Patsy's losing battle with ovarian cancer, come from a place of obvious deep personal anguish.

Inside of suffering
On reading your book it has brought me tremendous empathy and wonder to the variances of trials that you and your family have endured! I can only hope that with knowing god has a way of making things right that your baby girls murderer has not gone untouched by his acts of evil, that judgement shall approach his soul in this life or another and be comforted in knowing that he to is sure to know this as well. The unknown can sometimes burn its own pit in our hearts if we allow it, but search further and you will find your daughters' and wife's life around you in in the slightest fashions if you pay attention to the little things, knowing that they have peace will bring you to
yours. I wish you and your family joy and happiness in your future! Thanks for writing your book and bringing out a truth the media has not.

The other side of suffering
What an incredible book! John Ramsey is truly a modern-day Job, and his faith in God is real. What a time of rejoicing it will be when the Ramsey's are united with Jesus for all Eternity!

Excellent, excellent, excellent! My faith has also been strengthened as a result of John's writings. I always believed in he and Patsy's innocence and it is so refreshing to get a glimpse from the family's perspective, as difficult and raw as it was. Easy read and great book!
