Charity, her girlfriend Bezi, and the rest of her coworkers find themselves fighting for their lives over the course of one horrifying night that offers no promise of survival. Rushed exposition and a racially diverse but little utilized supporting cast dampen the novel's clever, audience-winking start and ambitious trope subversions. Nevertheless, Bayron's abundant use of familiar twists and turns draw on the genre's classic predecessors to craft a gory and darkly funny read that is sure to satisfy slasher fans. Ages 14–up.

I love this book
I absolutely loved reading “You’re Not Supposed To Die Tonight.” I’m truly grateful for the BookTok recommendation. As soon as I watched the video, I immediately preordered the digital copy. I’ve read five horror novels so far this year ( 3 of which are YA horror novels). All of which are good but, this story is the best one in my opinion. Camp Mirror Lake was once the set of a very popular horror movie. A man named Mr. Lamont decided to capitalize on that market and open up an interactive experience. Fans pay to be chased by a a killer in hopes of surviving and receiving a souvenir T-shirt. Charity Curtis finally has a chance to portray the final girl. She’s been waiting years for this moment. However, she never imagined that fantasy would become reality. There are numerous twists and an ending that I did not anticipate. My only wish is that a studio would adapt this story into a movie or a tv series.
