WAITS-FOR-MORNING: The Long Dawn

Between the falling and the awakening lies the long dawn. After Vane dropped the Seed-Song and the unmaking spread, the scattered people faced the dark with three answers: Doss the storekeeper, who learned that seed kept is seed dead and seed sown is harvest; the Warden, who raised walls against the night; and SINGS-ALONE, one faithful voice holding a single true note through all the dark years. This is the story of the generations who waited — the people who coined the oldest word in their tongue, waits-for-morning, and kept it alive through prosperity and forgetting, false dawns and tears, until the morning they were named for finally came. An interquel to the Saturn Cycle (VANE, NYXARI, MNEMN, CRESCENDO), WAITS-FOR-MORNING: The Long Dawn is a story about faithfulness in the delay — because the darkness before dawn is part of the dawn.
