Publisher Description
SO I WROTE AGAIN asks what happens when the witness himself becomes part of the evidence problem.
This is the Documentary Record in Jan Venter's Exposé Trilogy.
Years after the events described in INSIDER ACCOUNT, Venter returns to the paper that survived: emails, messages, court material, official correspondence, police references, financial and work records, witness-protection records, investigative material, media reporting, denials, adverse material and competing versions.
This book does not ask the reader simply to trust the narrator's memory. It tests that memory against the documentary record.
Where a reliable document corrects recollection, the document wins. Where another version survives objective scrutiny, that version remains visible. Adverse material is not removed merely because it damages the author's account.
The central question is not whether a witness is perfect. It is whether the surviving evidence can be tested on its own terms.
A difficult witness can still possess a genuine email. An angry witness can still possess a valid bank record. A traumatised witness can still produce real evidence. Human credibility and documentary authenticity are not always the same question.
I OPENED THE ARCHIVE.
Book Two of the Exposé Trilogy moves from lived experience to documentary reconstruction — placing the narrator beside the record rather than allowing him to stand in front of it.
