Publisher Description
Jake West chose duty over love once before. He doesn’t plan to make the same mistake twice. But will he get the chance for a do-over with Chelsea?
Jake’s long-buried feelings for Chelsea bubbled to the surface when they were trapped in the woods together, and, in the moment, she felt the same. But now that they’re back to their ordinary lives, she wants to take things slowly. He’ll proceed at any speed she wants. The problem is, Chelsea’s not returning his calls.
She’s not returning any calls, because she’s been abducted.
What Jake and Chelsea found in the woods stirred a hornet’s nest, and now she’s in grave danger. While Jake’s trusted team and Chelsea’s closest friends hunt for her, Chelsea herself plays a high-stakes game with her captor to stay alive.
The slow-burn romance and fast-paced action continue in the fifth book in USA Today bestselling author Melissa F. Miller’s Shenandoah Shadows series.

A whodunit with a splash of romance
I just finished Melissa F. Miller’s latest book titled “Imperiled”. It is the second episode for Jake and Chelsea. Why did I like this book? I like the characters in these two books who also are tied to the characters in the Olivia and Trent novels (Shenandoah Shadows). I liked that this community of people work together to find the missing person and to solve who did the kidnapping. I also find it interesting with all the different backgrounds for each character. There is a lady race car driver, a guy who works for the FBI. A lady who runs an outfitter company and a guy who runs a multimillion-dollar security firm. Oh, you cannot forget the lady who does the weather on TV. I would definitely recommend this book.

Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest
Loved it!
I have been waiting for the release of “Imperiled” since I read the final word in “Isolated” and it did NOT disappoint! The story picked up right in the thick of things with Chelsea being held by Vance. Once again, Melissa Miller had me on the edge of my seat, hanging on every word, laughing hysterically at the image she painted of Jake in the hospital, rooting for our heroine and hero in the fight against Vance as well as in the underlying thread of them coming together. I am always amazed at how much I’m pulled into the story and feel like I know each character. I’m emotionally invested in the story and that’s a strong tell of a great author. Another strong 5 star book that has me counting down the days until the release of “Entwined”
I was provided an advanced eARC of this book.
