The book before you was written by Aris Voliotis and photographed by Michalis Pornalis, a world-knowen photographer, Volos born and raised, whose photographs were published in important journals such as the National Geographic. If you encounter a postcard, photo or official publication of Pelion area, you are most likely to be impressed by a picture taken by Michalis.

Michalis knows every beach, hill and stone in Pelion. He often tells of this place or another, to friends who gather around him in one of his favourite taverns, and he always succeeds in causing the veteran residents to linger on places they have never visited.

In this book, first accessible in digital format, Michalis (with great difficulty) picked up the best of the best. The 24 taverns he loves most. With the most special delicacies, with the freshest fish and the most impressive history. And if Michalis chose it - you know you're in good hands.

Some of the taverns are local "tsipuradika". This means that you can order a "tsipuru" (a local alcoholic drink for anise lovers) - for each tsipuru bottle (25 ml) you will get an accompanying "meze" - a dish from the kitchen goodies. If , after few hours, you received a dish containing something that has already been served to you - the owner of the tavern failed, but then you are probably no longer in a position to notice it.
