Customer Reviews
Great book, great recipes, but the ebook could be better.
There's nothing wrong with the content of the book. I've eaten a few of these recipes now and they're fantastic! I even like how the book is enhanced for a digital reader.
My main problem is that you have no control over the rotation. When you press a button on a recipe page, the screen rotates into a view where you can swipe through the steps. Well, when it does that, it rotates counter-clockwise, rendering it upside-down in my Zagg iPad case/stand. Not very convenient if I'm trying to cook while following the steps.
Would give this 5 stars if that minor issue was fixed.
Book Great iBook not perfect
The book is outstanding but the iBook implementation is less than perfect. When the book is in landscape mode, the writing (book) is upside down. By that I mean the home button on the iPad must be on the left side in order to view the book right side up. I don't believe that is the "normal" orientation for most users. Plus, when my iPad closes in that orientation, it does not auto shutoff when iPad is closed. iPad must be rotated 180 degrees.
Someone should fix this rather obvious error and the book will be perfect.
Great recipes, excellent for failing eyes
Every recipe I’ve tried has turned out delicious. I can cook without reading glasses but I can’t read the original cookbook without them so it’s on/off/on/off etc. With this ebook I don’t have that problem plus with the money I saved I can afford to buy Veganomicon.
In addition to the rotation issue be forewarned that there doesn’t seem to be a way to add notes in the usual manner.
