Book 2 in the Damage Control series is Jesse and Amber's book.
Amber is returning to the place that houses both her best friend and her traumatic childhood. She has some hangups to overcome if she's going to survive this town.
Jesse has some hangups of his own stemming from his childhood. For the first time he's somewhere he can call home and it scares him.He works his tail off hoarding money while constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Jesse and Amber were two perfectly broken people in need of the right person to heal them.
I loved Jesse. My heart broke for him a few times throughout the story but the end made up for it!
As for the secondary characters, Seth was my favorite, he piqued my interest. The poor guy just can't catch a break and I cannot wait for his story, I just know it's going to be great.

Jesse meets Amber on her first day back in town. He is someone who hides his pain behind a sunny smile and humor. Amber tries to avoid people as much as possible but they just keep running into each other. Both have darkness in their pasts which they deal with in different ways yet both are hiding. Will they be able to pull themselves out of the darkness to find their HEA? I liked this book but I didn’t connect as well with Amber. The ending seemed a little rushed to me but this is a very good read.
On a side note; oh my God poor Seth. I can’t wait for his book!
