Publisher Description
The problems with the Bible that New Testament scholar Bart Ehrman discussed in his bestseller Misquoting Jesus—and on The Daily Show with John Stewart, NPR, and Dateline NBC, among others—are expanded upon exponentially in his latest book: Jesus, Interrupted. This New York Times bestseller reveals how books in the Bible were actually forged by later authors, and that the New Testament itself is riddled with contradictory claims about Jesus—information that scholars know… but the general public does not. If you enjoy the work of Elaine Pagels, Marcus Borg, John Dominic Crossan, and John Shelby Spong, you’ll find much to ponder in Jesus, Interrupted.

Thought-provoking
I read this last year and it is incredibly insightful.
Be very careful with Dr Ehrman
I took one of Dr Ehrman's classes at UNC Chapel Hill. Dr Ehrman is a brilliant man who is very good at what he does, but he is also very good at manipulating "facts" to say what he wants them to say. More often than not, he often blatantly ignores the things that contradict what he is saying. Many of his arguments, while interesting and generally well thought out, are often based on assumptions and personal opinions. Look at it this way, he is basically someone who gets paid to make educated guesses about a people and culture who he can only study through ancient documents. I do not want to form an opinion for you about Dr Ehrman, but it was very clear from his lectures and talking with him that he is a very arrogant individual. An individual who believes that he has found all the answers, which is a very dangerous attitude to adopt in his field. His books are interesting, but I would encourage you to take his "facts" with a grain of salt
A new look at the Bible
Bart Ehrman brings to light accurate history of our most revered book. He gives a historical, logical and personal summary of how the Bible was manipulated to convince the masses regarding the concepts of God, his values, and demands of the human race.
I was convinced that the Bible is a human book written by humans. It lost relevance for me after reading this and other books by Ehrman. I've already read it 3 times!
