'Job Titles' Are They Really Important?
Publisher Description
This is the first-ever book written on the importance of job titles, and that too after conducting proper research. There are arguments both in favour and against the value of job titles. After reading numerous articles published on this topic, I comprehended that most of the arguments, whether in favour or against, are grounded in the authors' assumptions on this subject. Of course, many of the authors have endeavoured to validate their claims by quoting subject experts or knowledge acquired from analysis of previously published articles. To my surprise, I have not found even a single book published on the significance of job titles. Due to this reason, I have decided to do a proper study involving employees or job title holders and publish the results in the form of a book. In my opinion, only through a proper quantitative study can a researcher extract the opinions of employees.
This book has 11 chapters, including this introduction, and each chapter elucidates diverse characteristics pertaining to job titles. The last chapter is exclusively meant for discussing the research carried out by me on this amazing topic, which has delivered impressive results. Some of the findings are contrary to previous studies conducted by other researchers. The book covers topics like Job title inflation, Holacracy, Flat organizational structure and Negotiating job titles.
