Publisher Description
Welcome to the world according to Avery Clavens. She's finally bit the bullet and become an undercover agent. That was only after taking a couple bullets herself. Somehow over the past couple months of recovery she hasn't killed her now partner, Agent Nathaniel Barnes. Miracles do happen.
Now they are on their first case together and everyone knows chaos is going to ensue. It seems someone is leaking classified documents from some top secret government lab out in the middle of nowhere. The powers that be won't tell them what the documents are, they just need to find out who is getting them out of the building and put a stop to it.
You would think with Avery and Nate on the job everything would run smoothly, yeah right. For them, it's just another day at the office.

Solid clean entertainment
So for me some huge pluses, no sex to sex to sex scenes, actual story, relationships that build etc...so rare in todays book scene. Also, with all the adventures, you can enjoy the ride, not be filled with anxiety over it. finally, smart characters, the M/F are smart and moral with a bent kind of humor, much to love. the other characters, for the most part, are the same. The story moves by finding stuff out, talking etc... not on stupid. Also, the author must have a real love for cooking, I totally share that love, so the ‘excessive’ cooking talk and recipe talk I find fun, it of course is the things the F loves to do, so I like that it is written that way, as a way to have fun, pass the time, think through stuff etc... I put it under well rounded characters, real life is not excitement to excitement, it is the in between that sets the pace and what you want to keep in life, this series covers that aspect. I am doing a re read of this series and am still enjoying the ride. I hope I didn’t give to much away in my comments to ruin the ride for you.
Huh
I had a problem with the way she treated him in the first book and as soon as I started this one, from the first page she started in on the abuse. She told him he’s dumber than a rock, called him an idiot and then bit his tongue when he kissed her. I skipped through a lot of the abuse and it seemed to be calming down only to find out they are supposedly aliens from millennials ago. Def a turn off for me since I am not into that.
