Great, like all in this series! But the ending!!! Egads, please don't leave us hanging like that! Now, if you eventually show the Iteeche, plus the worlds Kris has saved, combining to force King Ray to step down and give Kris a chance to do better at his job, while dealing with the Bug-Eyed-Monsters better than Ray ever would... Then I'd be happy! One way or another, the oldsters running human space, need to have a major wake-up call about proper use of diplomacy, the negative side of "Ostrich" head in the sand policy when confronted with all the evidence of a serious threat on the Iteeche border, and the actual value of human lives that they tend historically to squander.
