It will take more than desire to tame the animal within in this Leopard novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan.
Leopard shifter Sevastyan Amurov has an anger inside of him that burns so hot it’s almost impossible to control. His barely leashed rage threatens to break free, until he meets a woman who soothes his restless soul.
Sevastyan wants Flambe Carver with every breath. He’s determined that the fiery-haired woman will want to be his completely. But his would-be mate comes with strings attached—a relentless stalker who intends to claim her for his own.
They barely know each other, but with a very real threat looming just out of reach, Sevastyan takes Flambe under his protection. And as their connection grows, the embers of desire sparking between them soon burst into an inferno that will consume them both.
Though bursting with kinky sensuality, Feehan's 13th Leopard romance (after Leopard's Wrath) falls short in execution. Shifter Flamb Carver, a rare strawberry leopard who's yet to make her first shift, is devoted to her landscaping business and her secret side gig of rescuing female shifters from abusive situations, though the latter earns her some powerful enemies. After an attack by a male leopard shifter, Flamb turns to brooding, dominant Sevastyan Amurov, a Russian Amur leopard, for support. Sevastyan grew up hard and has a difficult time controlling his inner animal, but he finds solace in rough sex and shibari, the Japanese art of rope bondage. But something about Flamb and her docile leopard call to him and he's powerless to resist. The convoluted suspense plot never lands on a unifying theme, instead serving as a very thin thread tying together the decadent erotic scenes. Fans of the series will welcome the return of familiar faces, but many will long for a deeper connection with the central relationship. \n
The book was quite Erotic and interesting. At times it got a bit boring, but overall it definitely persuaded you to read more. The characters were well-developed and they all had such intriguing personalities; would definitely recommend.
