Interesting
This review is of Lost and Found, book three in the Unexpected Magic series by Christine Pope. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
So this is the third book in a series and you should read the first two so you understand about the glasses, the compass, the short sword, and the poem. The poem. What a pain! So we all can figure out that roan doesn’t mean an actual horse. But what does it stand for? The color, something a horse does, somewhere you find a horse? And the patriarch’s tears? So water, duh. Waterfall? River? Way too many possibilities. So there’s a lot to work with.
The only problem I had with this story is that Penny is still spending way too much time brooding over her relationship with Michael and her lack of knowledge about her mother. I understand, but get over it!
Disclaimer: normally I’m not too mouthy in my reviews, but I have a migraine and just took a pain pill. I think my filters got turned off!
Anyway, there is action and we do learn more about the poem. And we get a visit from some of the author’s other characters. No, you don’t have to read their books first. But they were really good so you should!
You will have to read this one for your self and make up your own mind. Try not to do it when you have a migraine.
