Another great series!
Spells and Spaniels is the first book in a new series by Christine Pope. I received an ARC copy and this review is my honest opinion.
Charity Hughes isn’t just any old witch. She has a very special talent of being able to communicate with other witches’ familiars. And with her college degree in psychology she is the best person to help a witch and her familiar work out their problems. That’s how Milo ends up in her home in Salem. Milo’s problem is he can’t talk. To anyone. Kind of hard to tell someone what’s wrong when you can’t talk. While this alone would make a somewhat interesting story, Christine Pope never has a just had an interesting story. So she throws in what happens to Milo’s witch. Nope. Sorry. I don’t do spoilers. And then there’s the time when Milo is attacked and the hunky vet Noah Jenkins runs to the rescue. Sounding more interesting? Well just wait until Milo, nope that would be another spoiler. But it’s a really good event.
So if I won’t give you any spoilers, what will I tell you? Well, the characters, including Milo, are well done. I’d like to know Charity even though I’m not a witch. And Charity’s home and garden sounds amazing! So, yes, there’s plenty to keep you interested. There are witches, talking animals, strange animals, and then that other event.
Yes, I loved it. Yes, I recommend it! Yes, you need to read it! And all of the other books Christine Pope has written. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!
