Publisher Description

An unforgettable tale of love, loss, and moving on—with the help of one not-so-little dog…

After the death of her husband, Rocky flees to Peak’s Island, a tiny speck off the coast of Maine, a million miles away from everything she’s lost.  Taking a job as an Animal Warden, Rocky meets Lloyd, a large Labrador retriever, who enters her world with a primitive arrow sticking out of his shoulder.  And so begins a remarkable friendship between a wounded woman and an injured, lovable beast.

Can the magic of Peak’s Island and its quirky residents heal Rocky’s pain? As the unraveling mystery of Lloyd's accident and missing owner leads Rocky to an archery instructor who draws her in even as she finds every reason to mistrust him, she discovers the life-altering revelation that grief can be transformed...and joy does exist in unexpected places.

Lost and Found

New author to me. Being a dog lover, that’s what led me to read this book. A different kind of story that held my interest.

Favorite Books Ever

This book was one of my favorite books of all time. The middle was a little slow, but a heartbreaking story to read. I would recommend you buying this book.

Redheaded Robin ,

For dog lovers, and those traveling through the Grief tunnel

I loved this book for many reasons, but first because the dog’s perspective seemed real, plausible and something I have experienced. Rocky, the psychologist who lost her husband suddenly to a heart attach at a young husband, age 40, compounded her grief with the total disappointment in the sometimes lifesaving technique, CPR. I, too, have experienced that. The story line was riveting, and confounding until the end. So great plot, complex characters, and a bit of bizarre behavior made this book a quick and extremely satisfying read!
