perfect fit for those rushed moments between holiday errands
A quick and smooth reading holiday story, Ella Quinn brings readers a lovely historic romance with a damsel in distress. Madeline, Comtess de Beaune was abducted and placed in an English brothel by a thoroughly distasteful man. A French citizen, Madeline is only wishing to return home, yet her chances seem slim.
Georges, the Marquis de Cruzy le Chatel has been spying for France for many years, with a life he has built in London. When he recognizes his childhood friend Madeline, all of his protective instincts come to life. He decides to offer marriage to Madeline, and spirit her from London to her home in France in time for Christmas.
These two are developed with a solid backstory that has them arriving complete and allows their slowly developing relationship to grow as Georges takes a chance to woo his childhood friend. This is a short and action-packed story where the romance develops in a matter of pages, leaving readers with a smile and a quickly achieved happy ending, the perfect fit for those rushed moments between holiday errands when only a bit of happy escape will do.
