Publisher Description

Have you ever gotten married without telling anyone? I did. Not telling anyone was the easy part. I had moved to a big city, had no friends, and wasn’t speaking to my family.

I tried the whole “fake it ’til you make it” thing. I was the “fake” part and my husband, Archer, was concerned only with the “making it” part. When I got a call about a family emergency, I walked out on my hot-in-a-suit ambitious husband and my superficial life and ran back home to the family ranch. And I stayed, ignoring my husband’s attempts to reach me—and I still didn’t tell anyone I was married.

Then a year and a half later, I found Archer standing on my property, looking like a titanium rod in a pile of rusty nails. He came to end things but ended up staying to learn who he really married—the shy corporate woman with a perfect blowout or the sarcastic country girl with mud on her boots.

The longer he’s around, the more I see I wasn’t the only one who was disingenuous. The suit is gone, and my city slicker spouse is fixing fence, diving into muddy stock ponds to save calves, and calling in favors to get the cattle enough hay for the winter.

Yet none of that changes that my family needs me, and I’m not abandoning them again. It doesn’t change the fact that the career he worked so hard to build is over a thousand miles away in Texas. Or that the life I want is exactly what he’s run from. The only thing we’re doing is making it harder to sign the divorce papers.

Their second chance

I was hooked on this series after reading Make Me Whole, so I was excited for Make Me Shiver. The book does not disappoint. Archer and Delaney are married in a quick trip to Vegas, but don’t really know each other. She leaves to go home to North Dakota after her brother’s suicide attempt. He eventually goes looking for her, wanting an annulment. But he quickly changes his mind, and has three weeks to make her fall in love with him again. Family drama, work, secrets… All keeping them apart. The author peeled back more of the Barron family issues, setting up the next book quite nicely. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book 2 in a new series and while I enjoyed the first book in the series, this book I loved so much more. This was an awesome second chance at romance with a married couple, Delaney Granger and Archer Barron. There are secrets, lost family members and fun in a small town.

Delaney has been married to Archer for several years but they lived in Texas and she has some big secrets from her husband she has been keeping when she leaves him 18 months before this book begins. The story takes place in North Dakota where Laney grew up and where Laney has been hiding from her husband. He comes to town hoping to figure out their future and thats when all her secrets come out.

Archer loves his wife and so he decides to fight for her. Laney meanwhile has to let Archer in and show him who she really is minus all the secrets she has been holding back. Its a time for Archer to also learn who the Barron family is and I really enjoyed going with him on this journey.

The author did a wonderful job with this story and giving us an inside look into the Barron family, the different characters and their family drama. If you adore second chance romances then this was an awesome story. I really adored Laney, her family and Archer and the Barron family. I loved how hard he fights for his wives heart and I was so happy that Laney gives him this shot to learn who she is.

I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
