Martial Arts Illustrations

I created these drawings and paintings because the community of martial artists are close to my spirit.  

Martial artists have dedicated themselves to learn the skills that will give them the power to protect others.  First among those are the ones they love.  They learn to subdue an attacker to keep the peace.  And this why I study the arts.  

My favorite teachers have been the Japanese Buddhists, like Grand Master Oshiro Henery Okasaki who developed Dan Zan Ryu (Sandal Wood Tree Mountain System) Jujitsu.  And also the Shaolin Buddhist Monks who developed Tang Lang (Praying Mantis) Kung Fu. And the mountain Forest Taoists.  All of them sought peace with everything alive.  Sometimes peace  must come by apprehending those who create war.
