Not the best in the series
I was rather disappointed in the dark turn of this book. I love the first two books, but I hated the way Kingsley became so blood-thirsty and Killian was turned on by it. Using whips in a sexual manner is fine, but the bloodlust was disgusting! I also had hoped that Killian, such a strong and powerful entity in the first two books, became a shell of who he had been. It was just okay for me.
Poor plotting
I don’t usually write reviews, but this was just not well written. The characters are nice and easy to like, but there are just far too many plot holes and way too many new developments that the story itself really didn’t build up to. Twists that didn’t make sense. From simple things like characters’ back stories (Killian’s siblings or lack thereof) to even the intimacy between the main characters. I get it, this isn’t a literary masterpiece or Jane Austen, but goodness gracious girl. Try harder.
