Mother Teresa

This biography of Mother Teresa is a high-interest, low-vocabulary book for adolescents and adults with limited literacy skills. Mother Teresa (1910-1997) spent her life working with the poorest of the poor. In 1948, she left her convent and started a school in the slums of Calcutta. By 1950, Mother Teresa received permission to start her own order, "The Missionaries of Charity." This charity has opened homes all over the world and continues to serve the poorest of the poor.
