My One True Cowboy

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This is the fourth book in this series of siblings. This book is Angelina Ford's story. The three prior books were on her siblings. Angelina is the oldest daughter and she lives in California as she has never has the passion for ranch life but she loves her family. She generally flies in and flies out quickly back to her busy life running her own independent empire. Unfortunately for Angelina, things take a down turn and she runs home to River Ranch around Father's Day. There she discovers that her dad, who is dying of cancer, is much worse than he was just a short time ago. She can't tell her family of her failure in losing her company especially her dad. He is a ruthless business and she knows that he would be disappointed in her.

Angelina runs to the store to buy food for a family dinner. There she runs into her old childhood best friend, Logan Brody. There the two bridge the gap that years of lost contact have brought. Logan is no longer the fun guy that she knew. Logan served in the military and was medically discharged a year ago. He is suffering from PTSD and survivor guilt over losing his best friend, Brett. To help with the loss, Logan is helping with Brett's widow, Kelly and their little girl, Lucy. In the incident, that took Brett's life and injured Logan, Brett's K-9, Ella, was also injured. Ella is Logan's shadow.

I was unsure about this story as Angelina is a busy lady who really is a strong-willed woman. She has run a little rough-shod in the prior stories and she really wasn't a favorite of mine. As this book is written in a dual POV format, I was able to see into her thoughts and feelings and identify with her more.

This is a sexy book where the "bedroom" scenes were glossed over a little. That being said though, I can only recommend this book to anyone over the age of 18. If you love the friends-to-lovers romance, especially with a cowboy (ex-military male protagonist), then I would give this one a try.

My copy had a few grammatical errors but it was an ARC so I didn't deduct any stars but I hope that the final book was free of them.

We are back at river ranch and this story has had me go through a lot of Kleenex. It takes you through so many emotions but it will have you laughing too. Angelina has come home feeling like a failure and trying her best to hide it. Logan has been her best friend it seems like all her life. She needs him right now but she finds out he needs her just as much or more. Soon their friendship is trying to turn to more. Very heartwarming story.
