My Seven Lives

Born abroad, but spending her early childhood in London before moving to Bavaria, a first married life in wartime Berlin, escape from Germany as a refugee to post war Paris and on to South America struggling to bring up two sons in the face of a failing marriage. You will be swept from one Continent to the next, crossing the Equator several times, as Chiquita's exciting adventures traverse the globe. Then there are the years spent in England, creative times modelling and designing jewellery, re-marrying, finally discovering Spain and yet another life. Designing and building six houses from scratch. 


It is not only the personal details of this resourceful and fascinating woman that hold the attention, it is the people she mixed with and the descriptions of a way of life that vanished with the Second World War. Chiquita's life being part of this new social order makes her book unique.
