Fan-favorite sleuth Holly Gibney must track down two deranged criminals in this riveting crime thriller. A threatening letter to Holly’s police pal, Izzy Jaynes, reveals a budding serial killer searching for warped justice. Meanwhile, Holly’s landed a gig running security for a feminist activist with a maniac stalking her lecture circuit. Both tales intertwine beautifully thanks to Stephen King’s literary skills. The dogged Ms. Gibney has quickly become a standout among King’s stable of fantastic characters, and this gripping tale strains her sleuthing skills while showcasing her vulnerable side. We especially enjoyed Detective Jaynes, whose budding friendship with Holly is a highlight. However, their formidable abilities and keen minds might not be enough to catch two obsessive offenders unwilling to stop until the bloody end.

Been a fan since Carrie, ie: book 1… early 70s i think. Thanks for the memories of all my King book friends, who’ve walked through my life with me
Keeping the Hodges books alive
Love Holly and these stories…and the “callbacks” to Bill Hodges.
This is a well developed storyline with a few twists to keep it very interesting.
Too political
I have read SK books for over 30 years. I love his character development and unique stories. While he has always peppered in politics and pop culture, this seems to have increased significantly since Covid. This book is mostly politics and left wing/right wing themes. It was too much. I tend to read for an escape and I found this overshadowed the characters. I’m sorry to say I couldn’t finish it. I found I just didn’t care. I love Holly but this book didn’t do her justice.
