Not My Romeo
I loved this book! It had a good story & interesting characters. The banter between the two main characters was funny & fiery. The sex scenes weren’t bad either. Then there’s the HEA, which is a must for me!
Another winner for Ms Gilmore
I just finished listening to the audio version of this book, which is book 6 of Ms Gilmore’s series Clover Park. The narrator, Mr Charles Lawrence , did an excellent job in depicting the various voices . You never had a doubt as to whom was speaking. That in itself, shows the real talent of the narrator.
As usual, Ms Gilmore’s writing did not disappoint me. I have to confess, I was not a fan of Vince from the previous story I had listened, Restless Harmony, so I wasn’t sure how much I would like this story. Well, I was proven wrong !! I fell in love with Vince and Sofia. These two were tough cookies on the outside, but softies inside. I wanted to give this giant of a bear a big hug, though at times I wanted to wack him as well :)
A modern day Romeo and Juliet without the gory side. Rather we have two competing construction companies bidding for a contract to restore and expand the Clover Park Library. Both Sofia and Vince have their own agenda for wanting this project. One has a company ready to go bankrupt and the other one wants control of the company they love. Their solution, is to go into a partnership. Aware that their fathers will be against it. Little do they know that partnership might go beyond the contract.
We also get to visit the Marino family . Whether you are new to the series, have only read/listened to some of the stories (I am in that category) or have been a reader from the first book, you will not only be entertained, but will enjoy the family dynamics, the sexy scenes, the strong characters and their tender side.
I was gifted this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Not My Romeo
I read so many books that sometimes I forget if I have read an author before. I liked the concept of this story and the characters, but once the sex got started it became a little too much and a little to often. It also was TMI. The F word was used as well. Yes, I know this kind of writing is popular today, but not something I am crazy about reading a lot of.
