Publisher Description
Life has settled back into some semblance of normal for Graciela Harper and her friends in Heron Creek. Of course for Gracie, that means a new ghost knocking on her door asking for favors.
When she sees the spirit of a teenage girl who has been missing for over a year, Gracie knows she has to help, even if she would rather spend all day in bed with the mayor instead. As she navigates the emotional waters surrounding the girl's family, friends, and first love--who also happens to be one of Leo Boone's estranged brothers--Gracie starts to suspect that Ellen Hargrove didn't disappear of her own free will.
Secrets run deep in all families, a fact that Gracie knows based on her own struggle to come to terms with Detective Travis's connection to her mother. As she uncovers more of the ghosts's hidden past, though, two things become clear: there is someone out there who doesn’t want Gracie to find out the truth, and the ghost of Ellen Hargrove isn't going away until she does just that.
Join Graciela Harper and the cast of characters in Heron Creek as they move on from the curses surrounding Drayton Hall and face new challenges--and offer up plenty of their own.

Another Home Run For Gracie
Another Home Run For Gracie
Each and every time I pick up a Lowcountry mystery I feel like I’m visiting with friends and catching up on all that’s transpired while I’ve been away. Gracie, Beau, Amelia, Leo … all of the Heron Creek residents leave you feeling like you could visit South Carolina and walk right into their lives. I find myself chatting about them as if they are real people -- because they are -- to me.
Gracie gets back to the ghostly basics in Not Quite Mine when her newest impatient companion shows up on her front porch with expectations of help. When Gracie realizes why she vaguely recognizes her, she sets out to do what Gracie does best and give the ghost closure so she can move on. Between the mysterious ghost of a young girl and an angry ghost Daria’s requesting help with, Gracie has plenty of adventure to keep her busy despite Anne Bonny’s curse being lifted.
Of course it’s never quite as easy as Gracie would like, and she will have to rely on her friends--scratch that, her FAMILY--in order to fit the pieces of the newest puzzle together. I absolutely love the friendships turned family in this series. Despite seeking answers about her family origins, Gracie is surrounded by people who love her unconditionally and accept her unique ability without question.
As always, I love Gracie’s sarcasm, her spunk, her strength, and her insistence on doing what she feels is right. I loved this quote and couldn’t help but highlight it because it fits Gracie like a glove, “I like to know where the line is so I can get as close as possible.”
Thank you for continuing Gracie’s journey, Lyla! I’m already excited for the next!
