The path of a murderer passes a little too close to home for a stalwart NYPD detective in this gritty crime thriller. After fishing the body of a beautiful young college student out of the Hudson River, Michael Bennett quickly realizes that he’s got a big problem. This appears to be the work of a serial killer with a particular type—and his daughter fits that type perfectly. Just like their hero, co-authors James Patterson and James O. Born aren’t interested in wasting time. They dive right into the inner workings of the NYPD and Bennett’s chaotic home life raising 10 kids. The tension never ratchets down, culminating in a last-second twist that knocked us for a loop. Obsessed is a breakneck thriller with a hero you’ll love to root for.

Couldn’t put this book down once I started reading
Corny and unimaginative
Obsessed reads like a Christian teen novel. The characters are uninspired working a case that I never cared about. It feels preachy and sanctimonious. If you like Hallmark movies this might be for you.
Great
5 Stars. Patterson books are almost always fun and this was no exception. Bennett is every bit as fun to read as Cross. This one grabbed me from the beginning and held on. The mystery was solid enough that I figured it out at the right time. That’s always a plus.
Bennett’s family played its part as well as expected. Their stories are growing and that’s a good thing. Bring on the next one!
