Publisher Description
From award-winning sports and new adult romance author, Sierra Hill, comes a second-chance, forbidden workplace, steamy age gap romance that will melt the ice and burn up the pages of your eReader.
I'm a veteran hockey player known as Ballas the Beast. All I want to do is continue playing hockey for as long as I can and extend my contract with the Vikings for another year.
But those goals might be thwarted because of her.
Karis Spurlock is the niece of the team owner, known as the Ice Queen because she can be as cold as ice.
When we hooked up in Vegas six months ago, she was anything but cold...she was hot and daring and it was supposed to be a one-time thing. No strings. No attachments. No need to ever interact again.
Just the way I like it.
Yet here I am negotiating what could be the terms of my final contract with the one woman I slept with in Vegas.
The same woman who now owns the Vancouver Vikings through a tragic twist of fate. And who is now my new boss.
This is book 1 in the new Vancouver Vikings hockey series, a stand alone book featuring Ballas Keeney and Karis Spurlock. But if you're interested, they also pop up in a previous series, the Puget Sound Pilots, in both The Wife Win and The Rival Romeo.

A great start to a new series! I loved it!
This is so much more than your typical sports romance!! Sierra Hill has given us mature characters who have very busy lives with many responsibilities and little time for anything else. Karis is a powerful woman in the sports world who works all the time to please the players, coaches and fans. Ballas is a veteran hockey player nearing the end of his career who can’t imagine a life without hockey in it. On the surface, Karis and Ballas couldn’t be more different, but after their brief encounter a few months ago neither of them could forget how wonderful and magical their night had been.
Reality has a way of rearing its ugly head at the most inopportune moment, and when Ballas found himself sitting across from Karis at his contract negotiation meeting, he knew that both of them were in big trouble. She was essentially his boss and a strict rule follower and would never want anyone to know about their time together. Ballas had other ideas and thought a visit to her private office was in order. In the real world, Karis wanted nothing to do with Ballas but in her heart, she was glad to see him and quickly realized she had never gotten over him. Karis has experienced much heartache in her life and deserves a man who will listen to her, believe in her, and always put her first. Hockey will always be first in Ballas’s life, but can the love of a good woman show him he has room for more?
