Publisher Description
The dentist was found with a blackened hole below his right temple. A pistol lay on the floor near his outflung right hand. Later, one of his patients was found dead from a lethal dose of local anaesthetic. A clear case of murder and suicide. But why would a dentist commit a crime in the middle of a busy day of appointments?
A shoe buckle holds the key to the mystery. Now—in the words of the rhyme—can Poirot pick up the sticks and lay them straight?

Never Saw it Coming….
As I make my way through the Poirot & Marple series, there are the books for which I haven’t seen the TV adaptations, so I get to open them like a gift. One, Two Buckle My Shoe kept me guessing to the end.
With a large cast of characters centered around a dentist’s surgery, the Dame had handfuls of red herrings at her disposal, which she used liberally. It was a clever story that had Poirot at times questioning his own prowess. That too was a misdirection. Again, you never see the end result coming. At least I didn’t.
Note: As always remember that Dame Christie included some of the backward beliefs of her time. Still it is a shock to see the words on the page. Just be forewarned.
