Squeaky clean, small town short story
I’m a fan of “clean” romance stories and I read my fair share of them, but this has to be the squeakiest I’ve ever read. I’d put the heat rating at a G—there are a couple of short kisses and a hug or two, but nothing you’d expect from an engaged couple (even if they’ve only interacted online initially).
With the simplistic writing style and almost childlike bantering between characters, plus the way the “drama” unfolds (and resolves almost before it begins), this book seems more appropriate as a YA fiction than a romance. It takes “sweet” to the extreme—very Andy Griffith/Mayberryesque. If that’s your sort of thing, then you’ll like this girl-next-door meets boy-next-door love story!
