OMG‼️. I love, loved this novel about Lucien O’Rourke & Samantha’s love story that takes place in Ft. Benton, Montana Territory in 1869❣️🥰. Ms Flightner has once again written an emotional & heartwarmingly captivating story of both romantic & family love & loyalty‼️👏. Our couple has lived traumatic lives prior to meeting at the O’Rourke’s warm & welcoming home, became fast friends along with his brother Niall, but all of a sudden Luc & Sam’s feelings move to a romantic attraction! Will past abuses get in the way of a lasting relationship? Will their love be strong enough to endure marriage? While winter continues, two new babes are born,
& everything is looking up for Luc, Sam, & the entire family when a blizzard strikes & Lucien hasn’t arrived for dinner with Sam & the others in his Mum’s warm kitchen‼️😩. The O'Rourke Family Montana Saga is one of my favorite series by this author! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading every book up to this one and have waited eagerly for Lucien and Samantha's story to be finished! As with each book in the saga, this one is filled with just enough drama, tender love, and that unwavering O'Rourke family loyalty.

It is refreshing how each book centers on couples of such varying backgrounds and ages. In this story, Sam and Luc are both very young, but they've been through difficult circumstances that have matured them beyond their years; still, they approach their feelings for one another with the reckless abandon of youth and their unguarded tenderness (when they finally open themselves up to each other) is sappy sweet--but not nauseatingly so.

Every book gives a peek into Seamus and Mary's relationship as they witness their children navigating love, providing wise counsel along the way and just simply loving them through the tough moments with a fierce, protective love that envelopes every new spouse that joins their brood as well. Those are some of my favorite moments throughout the series.

Overall, I love how the story panned out and some of the little twists along the way. This one was much more mild in regard to the suspense/drama side that was more prominent in the previous books. It provided a sort of break in the chaos of the events of "last summer" (vague, so I don't spoil anything) and focused more on the relational aspect that each character has with one another.

Ramona has a way of writing that creates a voracious appetite for more in her readers. Now that I've devoured this book much too quickly, I am waiting in barely contained excitement for Finn's story!

This is a super sweet romance story between Lucien and Samantha. At first, Lucien harbored an unrequited love for Samatha always seeking her out with his eyes. He mistakenly thought she and his brother Niall were meant for each other. But after Niall put it to him in no uncertain terms that they were only friends did he feel confident enough to approach Samantha. Samatha knew she was attracted to Lucien but thought he was not interested in her. Everyone in the O’Rourke family noticed how the two stole glances at each other but they didn’t realize the other felt the same. When the two finally…finally…got it together, there was no denying their love for each other. I loved the sweet ending. Worth the read.
