Pleasure Pain or Purpose. Book Two: Pain

Al has captured "Pain" and so much more in these women's lives. Once you open this book you will be mentally and emotionally involved! All I can think about is...what's to come for these friends. I believe that is what should happen when you read a book that is well written, with a great storyline, fantastic characters, excitement and adventure! This book (series) has it all!

Al Daltrey has knocked it out of the park AGAIN, with the second book of this series. First off, you need to read the first book in this series because book 2, Pain picks up where book 1, Pleasure left off.
Once again it grabs you from the beginning and makes you want to find out what new adventures, trials and sexy situations these three best friends will find themselves in, and this book surely delivers all three.
This book of Pain does touch on that in each one of the ladies lives. Biljana is continuing in her search for peace after loosing the love of her life and I felt such a connection with her as she begins the healing and moving forward process. Jasmin continues on her search for some truth and the struggles with her decision on which man in her life is the right man, could it be one of them or both of them. We also read about Vicky and her relationship with her husband Andrew, which in book 1 was a very rocky marriage as they move forward trying to work together as a couple to fix a broken marriage. Once again they are delivered a blow that may either rock their world again, or make them stronger as a couple.
Al has an amazing way of pulling you into each of these ladies lives and their stories. He pulls no punches, some of this is gritty and raw and real, which I love and makes me love these characters even more and want to continue with them on their journey's of self discovery.
Now about the sex!! Wow!! just wow!!
Al knows how to write some hot sex scenes!! This book is erotica after all so if you aren't into hot sex, don't bother reading this book. There is also BDSM in this book, specifically with Biljana as she is a sub. Boy-oh-boy are those scenes HOT!! Especially a scene with her taking part in Shibari, but there isn't one sex scene in this book that isn't. However, they are tastefully done and are definitely part of the story of these three best friends. It is not sex just to fill the pages.
I am definitely looking forward to book 3, Purpose in this series but with mixed feelings knowing that this will be last book in the series. I can't wait to see what Al does with Biljana, Jasmin and Vicky and where he takes them as they continue on their journey of Purpose.

This book was so worth the wait! I'm emotionally a wreck right now and need some answers. I finally had time to sit and read it and here it is 5 AM, I just finished and obviously couldn't put it down. This story is so well thought out and written, I feel like I'm emotionally attached to these three incredible women. Although each one of them are going through their own problems and are on very different journeys in their lives their friendship has continued to hold strong and they find a way to always support each other. I never get the feeling that any one of them feels like what is going on in their own life is more important or deserves more attention or sympathy. Each one of are experiencing the good and bad things in life just in a different way. I thinks it amazing the way Al has been able to write each woman separately through different chapters without confusion and then bring them back around to tie it all up together at different points along the way. It's a constant steady flow that comes together seamlessly.
You have to start with book one in order to understand book two but I highly recommend them both. If you read book one and for any reason you are on the fence about reading book two its amazing read it. It just keeps getting better and I can't wait for the last book. Once again I'm amazed with this authors talent and I'm looking forward to what comes next!
