Quite a bit more romance than the first one
This is more of a romance novel than a children's classic, but it is a continuation of Polyanna's story. There is more "this person loves that person, but believes their love loves another, and someone is believed to love them anyway, so no one can be happy and all plans are thwarted" for my taste.
