Introducing Coding in Kindergarten

    • 5.0 • 2 Ratings

Publisher Description

My kindergartners are always curious about the world around them, and one of my goals is to keep them engaged with that world through teaching practices that prove effective. I created this book to show how I engage students in learning numbers, letters, words, maps, and problem solving through coding. I have included introductory lessons and resources to help you start coding in your primary classroom. Your students will lead the way from there based on their interests!

Many of the resources can be handmade for the unplugged lessons. Other included resources are available on an iPad, iPhone, or MacBook.

    Excellent examples for the classroom

This is a wonderful resource for primary teachers who are interested in introducing coding in the classroom. Dustin Carlson gives great lesson examples that can easily be replicated in the classroom. The visuals and videos are helpful for both teachers and students. We will be downloading and using this iBook as a resource in a teacher professional development class that I am facilitating next month.
